FAQs
Yes. If you're hanging frames on a material that is harder than drywall, simply use a marker to 'color' the pointed tips on the Positioning Discs just before placing the frame against the wall. Pressing gently against the front of the frame should leave two small marks on your wall, indicating the position to insert your Support Pins or Wall Hooks.
Yes. We've designed a simple method to hang your frames without using the Positioning Discs or without taking any measurements. This can be seen at the end of our 4 minute video. Watch now.
There are two primary differences. The first is the overall size of the hangers. With the MAX hangers having over double the surface area of the ORIGINAL, you have more than double the area to make corrections to the position of your frames after hanging. The second main variance is the weight limits. The MAX hangers are rated up to 75 pounds -- the ORIGINAL up to 30 pounds.
The ORIGINAL Beehive Hangers are rated up to 30 pounds per set. The MAX up to 75 pounds per set. You'll want to note, these ratings are based on using two hangers on each frame and the appropriate hardware that is included with your hangers. Our tests were conducted using 5/8" drywall (sheetrock).
The ORIGINAL and MAX Beehive Hangers will fit almost any size frame. The frame should be a minimum of 7" wide on the inside when mounting the hangers on the top rail (Illustration 1), and a minimum of 4" tall when mounting to the side rails (Illustration 2).

The width of the frame rail should be 5/16" or wider (Illustration 3) to ensure stability of the screws when inserted into the frame.

Yes. Whether you order the ORIGINAL, the MAX or a COMBO package of the Beehive Hangers, your order will include all the hardware you'll need to hang your frames.
Maybe. If your frame is constructed of a hardwood such as maple, cherry or oak, it can be difficult getting the screws started, regardless of the type of hardware you're using. In this case, we do recommend pre-drilling pilot holes whenever possible.
